I have loved serving and advocating for you in the Utah Legislature—thank you for an amazing 6 1/2 years! Working at the state level gave me the opportunity to work on and deliver thoughtful, fiscally conservative policies to benefit all of Utah, and also the opportunity to work with and observe cities and counties throughout the state. As fulfilling as this was, I chose not run for re-election in 2024, and a lot of people have asked me why.

The answer is that I want to prioritize our local community, and so I am running to be Provo Mayor. I love Provo—the people, the different neighborhoods, the opportunities, the businesses, the schools, the recreation, and the beauty—and Provo is doing pretty good, but with all the things we have going for us, we should be doing GREAT! I am ready to tackle the issues that matter and to work hard to create a city government that is transparent, accountable, fiscally responsible, and responsive to you.

The next decade is critical for Provo. We have looming infrastructure needs, concerns around growth, and opportunities to support our small businesses. I want to ensure that we have a mayor who is actively engaged in every area of our community and willing to do the hard work to make sure the next decade is Provo’s best.

Thank you for your support and feedback during my service as your representative. It was an honor to serve you and I hope to earn your support moving forward!
