Items of discussion: -The Epic Sports Park and how to better incorporate it into the city (open it for citizens, use it for community events and not just rentals) -The lack of restaurants in Provo and why that is (Permitting and licensing is too cumbersome. Day 1 goal for Marsha is to go in and look at that process and how to improve it. We also need zoning changes to allow for restaurants more than just in downtown. Marsha wants to revisit the Master Plan to see how that can be accomplished) -The new Provo Mall development (one of Marsha’s biggest concerns is the displacing of the mobile home park. “I want to see the city start now in helping these citizens to know their resources.” -Problems with investment property owners and over-occupancy with students, especially around BYU (This is definitely not fair and not right. “If you have a law, there needs to be enforcement”. Marsha wants to increase student housing just south of BYU “where it makes sense” to help provide supply there and pull the students out of the neighborhoods. This makes investment properties not as appealing and allows for owner-occupied family homes to flourish)
