The consequences of our battle with coronavirus are pretty horrifying. Our economy and our social and emotional health are suffering; abuse and unemployment are skyrocketing. I appreciate the families and individuals in our community who are reaching out to support restaurants and businesses in often unconventional ways. I have heard beautiful stories of people caring for neighbors and strangers alike from a distance, and educators going the extra mile to seek out vulnerable students who are suffering without a safe place to go.

Thank you to all who work in essential services to keep our communities safe and functioning.

Thank you to all who work in essential services to keep our communities safe and functioning.

Major disruptions tend to be very painful and this one definitely has some negative consequences, but I see that there have been so many innovations in business, public/private partnerships, and education. We are finding out that many jobs can be done remotely, how to create online materials and learning platforms, and how to quickly adapt to changing situations. Another positive is that our air and roads have been so clear. We can learn from this experience, leverage these positive outcomes, and come out of this stronger and smarter.

Please contact me if you have any questions or if I can help you in any way.
