Items of discussion: “What do you feel that you would be bringing to Provo that they haven’t already done?” ”what would you do to help strengthen downtown and local businesses” ”we need transit to the airport—why am I paying for an uber? why don’t we have bus routes up here?” ”can you tell me your thoughts on affordable housing?” ”I’m worried about rental rights—the contracts are horrible” ”what influence do you have over the schools as mayor” Transparency is so important. I’m used to the state level…everything i did and said is public record because i think that’s what an elected official would do Issues brought up by residents: ”we have a power line that is too low, and just to get a permit for an engineer to fix it is $2000. The city looked at it and won’t do anything” -you are not alone, this is something I’m hearing over and over -a city should be making things easier for someone, not harder -that was one of my favorite things in the legislature was advocating for people ”do you know anything about the utilities they put in our backyard? I walk outside and people are just digging in my backyard without telling me” ”all this vandalism at our park has made us feel unsafe.”
